Adrian Hathorn
Adrian was a post-doctoral fellow working with David Jordan and Emma Mace as part of Program 3, focussing on exploiting photosynthetic variation in C3 and C4 plants. With a background in computational biology and genetics, his broader research focuses on the use of statistical and computational tools to characterise genetic variation in adaptive traits across the sorghum genome. He was looking at different ways to dissect the genetic basis of flowering time in sorghum, a complex trait with important implications for photosynthetic efficiency.
Adrian was awarded a Bachelor of Forestry Science with Honours from the Australian National University and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of New England in 2010.
Adrian was part of the Centre from 2014 to 2020
