Amanda Huen
Dr Amanda Huen was the Sydney’s Node research assistant and lab manager.
Amanda joined the ARC Centre of Excellence for Translational Photosynthesis as a research assistant in Prof. Min Chen’s lab in 2015. She has technical expertise in molecular biology, and DNA, RNA, and protein work, as well as HPLC and plant tissue culture.
Amanda was involved in supporting research initiatives into the mechanisms and proteins involved in the synthesis and light harvesting mechanisms of red-shifted chlorophylls (Chl d, Chl f) and accessory pigments (phycobiliproteins). As lab manager, Amanda was also responsible for daily running of the lab, and for culture maintenance.
Amanda has completed a PhD in plant molecular biology in the University of Sydney, focusing on long-distance phosphate starvation-responsive microRNA signalling in Arabidopsis and Nicotiana benthamiana.
Amanda was part of the Centre in 2016
