Nurul Abdul Bashir
Nurul completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at ANU and joined the Whitney Lab in 2015. She investigated the effectiveness of the dao gene, that codes for D-amino-acid oxidase, as a novel selection marker for tobacco plastome transformation.
Her aim was to overcome some of the current constraints in chloroplast transformation by developing an efficient selection system to engineer photosynthesis in plants.
