Sarah Kaines – RIPE Project
Sarah worked on the RIPE Project (Realizing Increased Photosynthetic Efficiency). RIPE is a multi-institutional research project that aims to engineer plants that more efficiently turn the sun’s energy into food to sustainably increase worldwide food productivity. The RIPE project is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Sarah’s expertise was on molecular biology, mass spectrometry and plant transformation. She worked in the Badger Lab as part of Program 1, Improving CO2 capture. She provided research assistance in the areas of plant growth, physiology and molecular biology.
Sarah holds a 1998 – B.S. in Biology, Truman State University, Missouri, USA (1998) and a Masters of Science in Plant Biology from Arizona State University, USA (2000)
Sarah was part of the Centre from 2014 to 2021
