Walter Israel
Walter Krystler Israel was a PhD candidate from the Western Sydney University Node under the supervision of Dr. Oula Ghannoum. He worked on resolving the differences in carbon isotope discrimination during photosynthesis among C4 biochemical subtypes in grasses. He also further explored the physiological variations in stomatal responses in these subtypes and possibly correlate water use efficiency.
Before coming here, Walter worked under Dr. William Paul Quick of the C4 Rice Project in IRRI specifically in the field of immunofluorescence microscopy and transgenic physiology.
Walter was part of the Centre from 2015 to 2020
